In the first week of autumn 2020, a group of teachers and doctoral students from the Department of Hydraulics and Hydroinformatics visited a number of hydraulic structures located in the Fergana Valley, including the Kokand hydroelectric power station, the Big Fergana Canal, and the Chartak reservoir. During the visit, they got acquainted with the technical and operational conditions of the facilities, with the factors affecting the technical condition of hydraulic structures.

To study the amount of turbidity of water in reservoirs and canals, their fractional composition, water samples were taken and the coordinates of the edge edges of the reservoir and other hydraulic structures, as well as the point of an absolute mark, were determined using a Garmin GPS device.

With industry experts on specific issues of hydraulic processes, a conversation was held on the topic of scientific research conducted at the department. They expressed their views and suggestions on the hydraulic processes occurring in hydraulic structures, and the procedures for their use, as well as the extension of their service life. The visit will be a systematic continuation of the ongoing work on the integration of science, education, and production to train competent personnel in this area.
