        The Department of Life Safety was established in 1991 on the basis of the departments of Labor Protection and Civil Protection. Over the years, the department was headed by PhD. R.D. Bobojonov (1993-1994), PhD., Associate Professor H.B. Avazmatov (1994-1995), PhD. R.D. Bobojonov (1996-2005), PhD., Associate Professor S. Gazinazarova (2005-2020), PhD., Associate Professor I. Akhmedov (2008-2015), PhD, Associate Professor Khaydarov T. (2015-2020). From August 2020 to the present, the department is headed by PhD, Associate Professor Khojiev A.A.

      Over the past period, a number of scientists have worked at the department: PhD., Prof. M. Yunusov, PhD., Associate Professor Mamadjonov A.A., Associate Professor Saidhodzhaeva N.S., PhD., Associate Professor, Turapov E.V., PhD., Associate Professor Kaydarov Yu.V., PhD., Associate Professor Gulyamova M.A., senior lecturer E.I. Ibragimov, S.A.Asilova, assistants Z.Kasimova, G.Rustamova, M.Marupov, O.Muslimov, F.Polatova, M.Boimatov, Sh.Tillaev, Head of the laboratory H.Khodjiboboev, N.Pulatova, laboratory assistants M.Iminov, U.Islamova. From 2001 to 2018, the department conducted training of specialists in the field of "Life safety", and since 2018, training of specialists in the field of "Occupational safety and health" has been conducted. Also, since 2020, the department has been training masters in the specialty "Safety of labor protection, production and technological processes".

        In order to increase the scientific potential of the department and provide young scientific and pedagogical staff, a doctoral program in the specialty 05.10.01 "Occupational safety and human activity" was organized on the basis of the department in 2023. Currently, the department employs PhD., Associate Professor T.A.Khaydarov, PhD., Associate Professor B.B.Utepov, Associate Professor, PhD, Z.K.Mirkhasilova, Associate Professor, PhD, N.G.Rajabov, Associate Professor N.J.Saidkhonova, senior lecturer, PhD, G.R.Murtazaeva, assistants: F.I.Kushnazarov, A.J.Kurbanov, S.T.Obloqulov, N.Norkozieva, senior laboratory assistant S.M.Sultanova, laboratory assistant M.A.Abdalieva.

       The teachers of the department teach the discipline "Life safety" in all areas of the university's bachelor's degree, and in the direction of the bachelor's degree "Occupational Safety and technical safety" they teach 13 names of disciplines. 8 disciplines are taught in the Master's degree program "Occupational Safety, industrial safety and technological processes". All disciplines taught at the department are fully provided with educational literature.

       The department conducts laboratory work on "Occupational safety", "Fire safety", "Emergencies and civil protection". All laboratory work is carried out with the help of modern laboratory equipment, in specially designated laboratory rooms.
